Importing VB1.14/1.15 posts into fresh install of vB2

I've installed the beta to a seperate directory. I intend to leave it here, customise the templates, add hacks etc, then just point the url from my site to the new location. Seems a reasonable thing to do right?

However, I can find no option to import vB114 posts into the new board. I see the option for UBB users to import. What am I missing here? Please tell me I just overlooked the option.

You can't import posts, you have to upgrade the forum. You can make a backup and upgrade it, customize it and then export the templates. You can then upgrade the real forum and import the templates.

Yeah... that makes sense. I didn't think it through properly due to all the excitement of getting v2

I was thinking I'd have to make an entire copy of the existing board which would have been a nightmare. I was a bit sloppy when I changed all my templates and I have fully qualified urls and paths all over the place.

But in practice, all I need to do is install a fresh copy of 1.15 into the new directory and import the important tables, then upgrade.

By the way, the installation went without problems on vservers.com freedom 300.
