    We have run repair.php
I have tried to repair the usergroup table through phpMyAdmin
We restored files from yesterday in case there was script corruption
I have emptied the session table and then run repair.php
I have emptied the session table and then tried to repair usergroup through phpMyAdmin

    Nothing is working.

I have looked at these tables using phpMyAdmin and everything LOOKS normal to my untrained eye.

    Help?

Oh... and for what it is worth, I can log in to the control panel and have no problems navigating around there.

Nope. The last hack I added was about a month ago (vbArcadepro, I think) and the boards have been working flawlessly since then.

I'm thinking it is an issue with PHP 4.3.1
            Lemme check something....

Could you post a copy of your db_mysql.php (upload one that is) to these forums?

OKay...I recommend this and give it a shot..

Reupload the ORIGINAL db_mysql.php from the vBulletin229.zip from the members area (or one stored locally)

It must be the original one, unaltered and with nocodehacks.

                See if that solves anything.

                  Same error.

I don't think that I have any hacks that altered db_mysql.php.

Did your host upgrade PHP/MySQL/Apache within the last 48hrs?

I think so. He rolled it back, though, and we were still having the same error.

                      Why? What's on your mind?

sounds like the database connection is being lost after it connects.

Do you have any mysql_close() or $DB_site->close(); in the code anywhere?

I don't think we have anything in the code that looks like that.

The odd thing is that I have another site with the same host which has vBulletin boards and they have been working fine all along except for when the host has taken down the server for a reboot or what have you. We're moving MySQL and will retry in about an hour. Hoping that will do it...

If you want to pm me your forum details (ftp and admin password) I'll check all the code for it. It is not a database corruption there is a problem with the code which has caused it to close the connection at some point.

Appreciate it greatly, Scott. If I am still having issues when we are done moving, I'll PM you all of the necessary info.
