    Admin-Only Permanent Deleting Posts/Threads

This is a simple one -- just 5 template edits.

What it will do is stop anyone without admin permissions from physically deleting threads and posts.

This was written for boards who use Super-mods rather than forum assignments, but don't want them to have unlimited rights like admins do.

Screen shots are of the mod view and the admin view.

Enjoy, and as always, please post any thoughts you have on making this better!

      No problem.

I saw on vB.org that you wanted to restrict this to yourself only? This will restrict to all who are admins, but you can change the conditionals to $bbuserinfo[userid]="yourid" instead to do that.

        Thank you for this hack.

        @Vbulletin staff:
I see an option in CP that says:
"Can Moderate All Forums (is Super Moderator)"
        you should change it to:
"Can Delete Physically All Your Forums (is Super Moderator)"

Today I saw one of my threads physically deleted accidentally by Super Mod and I can't do anything about it.
I can't read in Manual/FAQ that Super Mod can physically delete all my forums.
        Tell me if I'm wrong!

Make sure that "can control panel" is set to no for Super Mods.

They will have access to the mod control panel, but not the admin control panel -- which is where forum control is located.

Oh yes, is set to No.
I've only set to Super mode because I want a mod that can moderate all forums and not for giving to him access for delete physically my forums. If I want to do this I was setting him to be as admin!

            Thank you!

There is no option to stop Super Mods from physically deleting a post. Doing this requires modifying the code. We cannot officially support code modifications or forums running modified code, however can try searching or asking for help with this over at www.vbulletin.org.

Will/has 'Admins can only delete permanently' be implemented in 3.5.0?
