    3.0.0 Status Update

Here is the current status of vB3 development:

    1. In light of the recently discovered XSS issues in vB3, a complete audit of the vB3 PHP and templates is getting underway, with the goal of being as sure as possible that no further vulnerabilities are missed.

    2. Bugs discovered since the release of RC4 are continuing to be fixed. At last check, all confirmed bugs had been fixed or resolved and a small number unconfirmed bugs are being reviewed. We are still awaiting feedback on several issues, and would urge those whose bug reports have been placed in that category to go and check them to see if they can assist in either confirming or dismissing the reported issue.

    3. The new images are receiving their final polish, and work on a vB3 Graphics Developer Kit will begin once they are finalized. This will be available as part of the vBulletin 3 manual, which will be released along with 3.0.0 'Gold'.

    4. Progress on the Admin CP Inline Help system is drawing toward completion, largely thanks to recent efforts from Jake. Every topic and function in the Admin CP will have inline help available and represents a vast improvement over what we had for vB2.

    5. Work on the vB3 Manual has begun in earnest. It was necessary to wait until the major coding was complete before much of this work could begin. There are a large number of new features and controls that need to be completely documented and it is our goal to release vB3 with complete documentation that will eclipse that which was available for vB2.

    6. The vB3 Admin Demo is currently being put together and will be available alongside the 3.0.0 release, when vBulletin 3 replaces vBulletin 2 as our 'stable' product.

    7. The vBulletin site and Members' Area is being updated to match the style of vBulletin 3. The new site will make its debut with the release of 3.0.0.
