    Invision 1.2 ----> vBulletin

    Hello.

    I run a company forum with Invision Board 1.2. I take interest in vBulletin and wander if their is anyway to convert all members and posts and forums over to your software.

    Thanks,
    Matt

    Yes. There is an Invision Board 1.2 -> vBulletin 2 import script available.

          How does this converter work? Will I still be able to keep the invisionboard running after convert? Will it just create a new database?

          Thanks.

            You can continue to run IPB, but the databases will not be linked in any way. During the import you should shut down your IPB forums. The existing data will then be added to your vB database. After this you can turn IPB back on and continue running it as a separate forum.

              So if I move my IPB to domain.ext/ipb and install my vbulletin (that I will buy soon) on domain.ext I can continue to run the IPB? It will remain as it was I asume.

                The import has nothing to do with the location of your IPB files. It reads the info from the IPB database then imports it into the vB database. Just make sure you have your IPB forums turned off while you are running the import.

                  Do they need to be turned off so no changes can be made to the database while converting?
