Yeah um question about smilie codes

I got alot of smilies that begin with :'p': and one smilie that is the tounge sticking out one that is :'p':

my question is how can I make it so that my other smilies beginning with :'p': dont get overwitten by the tounge sticking out one and cut off the rest of the smilie code?

For example I have :'popcorn': but it gets overwritten by the tounge sticking out one.

    What should I do?

You could either try changing the smilie to be :P instead, or use ;popcorn; instead of opcorn:

I only let users use the standard 11 smilies

it's not fun nor popular. you dont always click to smilies all the time, you can type too. : p and : P should, however, act the same.

        say YIM use something like : o and : o ), you cant display : o )

I have mentioned once, but it was considered to be kinda related to "hacking"

in vB 2.3, I user this one ORDER BY LENGTH( `smilietext` ) DESC in bbcodes_parse (functions.php), in order to relace the smilies from the longest ones (so that, it looks for and relpaces : o ) first, then : o )

However, in vB3 beta4, I do the same thing in /include/functions_bbcodeparse.php, it doesnt work. Dont know why.

I dont know if vB3 beta has fix this problem or not (Hopefully so).

I've always considered this a bug in vBulletin.

I hope vB team take it as a bug this time

It shouldnt be too hard to replace smilietext in LENGTH order though, it will eliminate that bug

should this post being moved to Problems or Bugs board?

                replacements are based on displayorder.

If you want smilieX to be replaced before smilieY give it a lower displayorder.
