Error when trying to upload a avatar?

My host is in safemode, I have CHMOD the folders to 777, I've set the safe mode option on in the admin cp.

    error:

Warning: move_uploaded_file() [function.move-uploaded-file]: SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 32016 is not allowed to access /tmp owned by uid 0 in /home/*****/public_html/******/includes/functions_upload.php on line 58

Warning: file_exists() [function.file-exists]: Unable to access in /home/*****/public_html/******/includes/functions_upload.php on line 118

The server's '/tmp' directory is not chmod'd to 777. Note that you would need to be root to do this.

Alternately you can create and use a tmp directory in your own server space for this. You'll need to use the full and exact path to this for the 'safe mode temp directory' setting.
