    Firefox 3.5?

Is there a compatibility issue w/ vB and FF 3.5? One of our users wrote this:

    Re: Firefox 3.5 is released
My only issue, and I'm not sure of the cause, is that since installing 3.5, I haven't been able to properly use the quick reply box on this forum. Normal reply works fine, but the quick reply always tells me that the message is too short (regardless of how much is written).

I don't have any issues with Firefox 3.5, and Quick Reply.

In fact, posting via QR now.

        I have the same issue

Firefox 3.5 Beta do not make the same effect.

But now the official release have problems in the quick reply.

        the same error.

        Vbulletin 3.8.1

PD: only fails the first try, if i go back and press again (same text, same everything) it works.
In any post, always is the same.

PD2: this do not work, even if the minimum character is set to 0...

After a litle testing, Firefox in the first try do not send any data in the message string in the POST.

I think Firefox 3.5 have something buggy, (read my previous post).

Any help is appreciated, because this damage my community.

Were not having any issues with Firefox 3.5. You might want to make sure that javascript is enabled in firefox.

            Tools->options->content->Enable Javascript
            mainstreamnetworks.net
            Instant setup vps
Setup in less then 5 minutes.
            2-4 hour dedicated server setup.

              I solved the issue.

              "decompressing" vbulletin_quick_reply.js

              using http://www.howtocreate.co.uk/tutoria...es/JSTidy.html

Now works fine, it seems to be a bug in the first time when firefox 3.5 load a long line js file, sometimes it not load (or parsed) entirely.

I hope this can help if someone have the same problem.

Good to know. This doesn't surprise me as Firefox 3.5 includes a new javascript engine.

Replied to this thread using QR and FF 3.5 gold

                    No issues

It probably is the browser with an outdated add-on, or old cache on the browser... I think the message text is simply not being sent

My members have freezing issues when using vbulletin with firefox 3.5.
I checked this and regret to have installed FF 3.5. Now I am having the same issues.

Firefox 3.5 treats JavaScript differently. See the Firefox/bugzilla forums for more info on this issue.

It seems to me that vbulletin may not be compatible with firefox 3.5

Have you tried using FF3.5 in safe mode. Firefox safemode.
That is without any add-ons ??

                        I'm using 3.5 on XP SP3 - Vista SP2 and Windows 7
I've not experienced any problems at any forum (vBulletin) that I visit.

Create a new profile in Firefox... Does the issue continue?

I am also using Firefox 3.5 and cannot recreate this issue by the way.

I have same issues in my board, and all my user with Firefox 3.5 have theese troubles.
My troubles are not in quick reply but in quick visitor messages, you should push the SEND button another time to send a message there with FF 3.5.
