Plugins & Styles not installing or working properly

I have been unable to fully install a style or plugin, the page which shows the progress usually dies after the first message.

"Reorder Styles" also dies immediately. It happens with both uploaded and local XMLs.

    Server
    Server: Linux
    Web Server: Lighttpd / cgi-fcgi
    PHP: 5.2.1
    Max Post Size: 8MB
    Maximum Upload Size: 2MB
    Memory Limit: 32MB
    MySQL Version: 5.0.45
    Packet Size: 16MB
    Using XCACHE

    Plugins
vbSEO ( partially installed due to problem )
    vbOptimise
    vbAdvanced
    vbBlog

I imagine this is a permissions issue, or a problematic database table, could anyone point me in the right direction.

Run this and report back the results:

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Problematic Webserver Modules

Change CKEditor Colors to Match Style (for 4.1.4 and above)

I should've mentioned that as well - I am running Lighttpd with PHP under FastCGI.

Hello there apples long time no see

Do you have mod_security enabled? This interferes with any ajax going on.

Add this to your .htaccess file

        <IfModule mod_security.c>
        SecFilterEngine Off
        SecFilterScanPOST Off
        </IfModule>

You quote me, yet you give a irrelevant suggestion...

          Modules running
          - mod_rewrite
          - mod_redirect
          - mod_alias
          - mod_access
          - mod_auth
          - mod_status
          - mod_setenv
          - mod_fastcgi
          - mod_webdav
          - mod_simple_vhost
          - mod_evhost
          - mod_userdir
          - mod_cgi
          - mod_compress
          - mod_ssi
          - mod_accesslog

If AJAX is the only issue associated though, then it runs fine, as I happen to be working on a chat.

It reported No on both mod_security and suhosin, considering I am running Lighttpd with PHP under FastCGI I thought that was given. ( was thinking of suPHP )

Remove vBOptimize. It caches things that vBulletin hasn't been designed to cache and can cause problems like this.

Thank you, that was the problem.

Why people install vBOptimize on such a small board is beyond me.
