How do I access the content of private messages?

Is there a way to access the content of private message that users exchange with one another?

    No there isn't.
There are hacks at vbulletin.org which let you do that or you could simply look at the database.

Try the admin log in as user hack on VB.org.

Login as that user, but you can get in alot of trouble if someone were to find out that you were reading person messages. You should check the rules in your country before even thinking of doing this.

Yes, the hack is another way and I think it is called 'Login As User'. This makes sure you do not have to resend password to members email.

There is another hack at vb.org called "Read PMs".

I do not get why would any admin want to have those hacks installed, as you can get sued by your own members or be in trouble with the laws in your own country.

I would rather the member reading up of the laws obtaining to website privacy or what ever it is called in your country.

Jose I do agree with you. I would never want this feature in my acp.

I did install the feature by accident once - one of the more popular hacks, WebTemplates, comes with this feature, for whatever reason, although this is not disclosed in the release thread.

Imagine my surprise when I installed the hack and discovered I could read my members' pm's. Fortunately, it also comes with the option to remove this feature, which I did promptly.

Will the user know if "Login As User" hack was used? I do not want to generate any record or email being dispatched, etc., etc..

No, it leaves no traces. I have it installed as a quick way to get into my test member accounts, rather than log out, log in, then out and in again takes too long.
