    Poll goofiness

    When someone selects an option on the Poll, it shows the poll and the contents of a really old thread. I'm not entirely sure why this is happening, but it started to occur after I upgraded from ver 2 to ver 3. Every time I think I have it resolved it comes back...any suggestions? When you view the poll afterward its fine.

    Sounds like a browser cache issue.

    To troubleshoot this, first reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version:

    Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

    [Note: In some cases you may also need to remove any of the listed .xml files in the includes/xml directory.]

    Next, disable all plugins.

    Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

    define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

    Then if you still have this problem, create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Finally empty your browser cache, close all browser windows then try again. Make sure you change to the new style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

      Looks like my installation is jacked up. Getting errors like contents not as expected. Ver 3.6.5 installed not expected versin 3.6.4

      I'm reuploading 3.6.4 and I'll go from there and see if I can upgrade.

        I have done everything that you said to try and ti still does it. Ironically it seems to jump to a specific forum each time. Occasionally it gets the correct thread. I'm at a loss as to have to correct this.

          Then the only other possibility is that this is something on your end. There is nothing in the vB code that would cause this.

              Is it possible to strip all polls from the forum and see if that fixes it? Every poll now posted attaches itself to another thread as well.
