please How do I remove Powered by vBulletin in the title?
and Can I disable the version number of vBulletin and how then?

iam new User to vBulletin so please type the Steps .. step by step .... please

Search for Text: {1} - Powered By vBulletin
*hit enter*

On new page, click [ Edit ]
On new page, in where it says English (US) Translation (optional) type in: {1}
Save

vBulletin version is in several locations; I'll just go over the two that I'm aware of.

To remove the version number in footer (you're allowed to do this, but not the copyright message):
Go back to the server in phrases page.
Search for Text: powered_by_vbulletin
Search in ...: Phrase Variable Name Only
Click [Find]

Edit the "powered_by_vbulletin" phrase and fill in where it says English (US) Translation (optional): Powered by vBulletin <br />Copyright &copy;2000 - {2}, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.

To remove the one in meta tag:
Admin CP > Style Manager > <<>> for your style
Edit "headinclude" template

Find:

<meta name="generator" content="vBulletin $vboptions[templateversion]" />

Remove it.


I am not aware of other places that needs removal directly... so you should be good to go like that.

What changes to Andy's above edits would I need to make if I wanted to CHANGE "Powered by vBulletin" to something else like "Hi mom"?

Type in {1} - Hi mom.

Please note that you cannot rebrand vB, even with a branding free license; so don't go and change that to powered by phpbb or something alike

I admit I know very little about phrases...but is this what is happening when I do what you mentioned in post 7---phrase number {1} is "Hi mom" and anywhere that calls for phrase {1} will have "Hi mom" in its place?

If so, how can I determine how many places in vBulletin that call for phrase {1}?
