How does the archive feature work

I have it enabled in my control panel, but I can't seen\ anywhere it exists on the forum. Are there any usage instructions? Oh yeah, the manual. I guess I could always try looking at that, couldn't I?

There is no archive section. The archive is just another way to view the whole site and uses the permissions of the person viewing it. It provides a basic structure that search engines can spider to grab all the content on your site.

How do I view it? How can I check to be sure it's working?

          I looked there, all that's there is archive.css 1.15 KB, global.php, 9KB and index.php 15.69 KB

When I call up www.saponitown.com/forum/archive I get a Page Not Found.

Its hard to give you more info to go on without knowing what your server is setup as. However I'd guess its an apache 2 issue.

Add an htaccess to your archive folder and add

AccecptPathInfo On to it and save.

Is there an extension to the htaccess file and does it go in the root directory? I haven't done one before.

The htaccess file has this file name:
                .htaccess

You can add it in any directory, in this case, put it into the /archive/ folder.
