    SMF to VB problems

Ok after waiting a few months for my skin to be completed I finally had the chance to convert our forum over to vb.

    A few problems :

    1) I had a number of forums with banners in a sticky post. I have enabled HTML for these forums but the banners do not work.

Here is an example : xxhttp://www.freerollerz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9033

    2) I have numerous forums where only the sticky posts show.

    3) The smileys came over but they are not working in old posts.

Any and all assistance is appreciated.

    1) Check that the code is correct when you edit the post. I also honestly recommend you disable HTML posting, as this can cause security issues.

    2) Make sure that you are viewing posts from the beginning, and not only the last month.

    3) What is being displayed instead?

Sorry, that's not possible by default. There are plugins available at www.vbulletin.org that allow this though. Can't you use img tags?

        2) Edit the forum and make sure the 'Default View Age' setting is set to Show All Threads

        3) Do the smilies show up correctly in your AdminCP? You might have to adjust the pathes there.

            RE : smilies.

Ensure the physical images are copied to the correct folder where vBulletin is expecting them.

              regarding #2

Hi. I have the same problem with #2. There's something wrong with the dates - topics have wrong dates - all are marked as year 1970. Posts have proper dates.
              Any hints?

You haven't followed the instructions in the HOWTO or manual and cleaned up after the import.

                  thanks

Thank you Jerry! You were right - I didn't recount... i have actually ran the process but it was so slow, that I had closed the browser. I reran the recount and everything is fine. Thank you so much.

Now I have only one problem left. My users are using GIF tickers as their signatures (inserted with bbcode). After the import these graphics are not displayed. Can you take a look?

Can you link to a thread to show the broken bbcode in a signature ?

                      signatures from smf

                      Hi Jerry,
                      thank you for your support.
Here's a link to the same topic. Signatures are not displayed in VB. I think I've made all the changes in VB config - allowed IMG in signatures, allowed dynamic images in IMG etc. I have porbably missed something...

                      SMF:

                      VB:

                      Thanks

They look ok now, did the users redo them ?

widgetinstance 262 (Related Topics) skipped due to lack of content & hide_module_if_empty option.
