    PC Remote Control

Does anyone have any recommendations for software to remotley run Windows PCs? (ie view desktop, file share etc).

I am looking for something that can easily handle a few machines, and preferably something cheap/free.

    Any suggestions?

RealVNC or if they're xp pro machines just use remote desktop, just setup the network shares as needed.

XP home. I have used RealVNC before so that was my thought, do any of these other programs like PC Anywhere etc offer any extra features that are useful?

Need to use the dev version for file transfers, stable doesn't quite have it yet.

I use it here and the java viewer on my mac to access windows machines.

Be careful running programs like these. I know that there is a popular RAdmin exploit going around which is why I switched to TightVNC

I have found a VPN to be a hell of a lot more reliable and efficient than Remote Desktop Connection for sharing files. Obviously not possible for sharing a display, though; I still use RDC for that.

An RDC client is free with every version of Windows, but the server is only in XP Pro, not Home (IIRC).

Well every version of Windows comes with Remote Desktop now and can be set up as server or client. Users can even request assistance via IM or Email.

I use LogMeIn myself as it allows me to access my desktop from my iPad if I need to do so. Though the mobile app is pricey, they have a free solution on their websites for desktops.

He said that it needs to be free.

Anyways!, I would recommend "Team Viewer" for iPad/iPhone/iPod/Windows/Mac/Linux/Andriod, <= Any versions accepted!, if you have any of those items you can use Team Viewer with them! You will have to download them on sperate devices, Example Lets say If i want to work on my windows computer on iPad I have to download it for iPad and My windows 7 computer to be able to work.

                      Download Link: http://www.teamviewer.com/en/index.aspx

                      Kind Regards,
                      Lloyd M.
