how do I remove the images in the catagories
and make the subforums list in the catagories box under the catagory?

Categories don't have images in the default style.

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Forum Listings Display Options

Try setting your forumhome depth to 1, and your subforum depth to 1 or more. I think that is what you want.

Admin CP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> « » -> Forum Home Templates -> forumhome_subforumbit_*

Remove the image tags from these templates:

[color=red]<img class="inlineimg" src="$stylevar[imgdir_statusicon]/subforum_$forum[statusicon].gif" alt="" />[/color] <a href="forumdisplay.php?$session[sessionurl]f=$forum[forumid]">$forum[title]</a>
