    Members not reciving Emails

    Sice I upgraded to 3.5.1 from 3.05
The mailing function returned an error while trying to send the mail.
    Pertinent PHP Settings SMTP:localhostsendmail_from:Nonesendmail_path:/usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i

Results No errors were returned while attempting to send the email. Check ******@msn.com shortly to confirm you've received the email. If you don't receive the email, try sending the test to a different address. If that fails, check your mail server's configuration.

    could anyone help?

I'm confused. One message says you got an error and the other doesn't. Nonetheless make sure you have a valid webmaster's email address in your Admin CP settings and that there is only one address. Then try this:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Server Settings and Optimization Options -> Enable "-f" Parameter -> Yes

Then try the vB email functions.

If it still doesn't work, then this is either a server and/or mailbox issue.

By default vB uses PHP's mail() function for all its email and uses the SMTP server specified in php.ini. If PHP and the mail server are configured correctly then email will work.

it seems to be mostly a problem with aol users the recived emails befor but now there getting kicked back
This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

      ****@aol.com
SMTP error from remote mail server after end of data:
      host mailin-01.mx.aol.com [205.188.156.185]: 554-:
      (RLY:CH) http://postmaster.info.aol.com/errors/554rlych.html

found the problem AOL sucks http://postmaster.info.aol.com/errors/554rlych.html

The reverse DNS of your IP Address is typical of a dynamic IP Address and has generated AOL Member complaints

so any advice on how I could fix this?

Since the upgrade I am having same issue also gmail and hotmail. Everyone that uses these accounts never gets the email and I am getting the Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender
unrouteable mail domain yada yada yada

Also, I checked Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Server Settings and Optimization Options -> and have no Enable "-f" Parameter -> Yes
          ????? Am I blind?

Update, the location you stated is incorrect. It is in Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Email Options and my Enable "-f" Parameter was and always has been set to Yes.
This only started after the upgrade to 3.5.2
ALSO, any subscribers will not get their emails as I get their bounceback emails
          unrouteable mail domain "yahoo.com"
          unrouteable mail domain "gmail.com"
          unrouteable mail domain "hotmail.com"

I have temporarily turned off email validation requirement for registration until fixed but this is a bit much as I am getting overwhelmed with email bouncebacks now! I will open a support ticket if need be but this should be addressed as I have now seen 4 posts with same issue after updating this.

              unrouteable mail domain "yahoo.com"
              unrouteable mail domain "gmail.com"
              unrouteable mail domain "hotmail.com"

Is a server issue, not a vB issue. Sounds like your host has disabled emails from "nobody" There have been recent email spam attacks that are affectiung servers in mass.

              I'd suggest swithcing to smtp

I have posted this request for help at my hosting site. If the host states a server issue and changes made, I will update this post. Hopefully the other users in the 5 threads ALL have the same issue with their host.... if not, back to square one.
Thank you VERY much for the response Zachery

Simple Mail Transfer Protocol is a protocol used to send and receive email.

                      Under Email Options
                      SMTP Email
Set this option to yes to use a SMTP server rather than the internal PHP mail() function.

                      SMTP Host
If you've enabled SMTP mail, please specify the host here. You may find that specifying an IP Address rather than a domain name, results in better performance. Example: smtp.gmail.com

This is similar to when you set up your Outlook account from your host. You will need all of this information from your host to enable this.
