What are these files in my forums Directory.

Was getting ready to upgrade to 3.5.1 today and saw these files in my forums directory.
Can anyone tell me if they are vbb files and what are they used for..
I have no idea what they are.

Also what should the chomd be set at for the forums directory. Mine is 777 so should it be changed to 755.

Safe mode is set to no.

The files are chomd to 600. I tryed to download one and don't ahve access for that.
I am afraid to try and reset the chomd and delete till I know more about what they are.

Can you see timestamp/owner of these files?
Could you try access them and see what the contents are from a SSH/Telnet prompt?

MarcoH64 I don't know alot about how to use SSH/Telnet. Ftp and accessing file in host cpanel is all I have ever done. I have done a few things with mysql but only after getting clear and precise instructions from others.

I can access them in my server cpanel and with ftp but can not change the chomd or download any of them.
When I click on view in host cpanel it says they are empty.
It has me worried as how they got there and what they may be used for.
If I don't need them I would love to delete them.

What has me curious is all begin with vb and that is why I posted in the vbb forum.

I've seen similar files in my own forum. I deleted them after having them in the forum folder for months, and i havn't noticed any bad effects yet. Server cookies that havn't automatically been cleared perhaps?

I may have messed up but I deleted the files.
It showed them to be empty when accessing in host cpanel with file management.
              Will see what happens.
Thanks to all for your support.
