Fresh VB but old arcade transfer

Hi as my coded vbulletin is pretty messed at moment i was thinkin of installing a fresh VB
BUT i have arcade with over 300games installed and i realy dont want to have to install them agen,anyway to have fresh vb and just transfer my arcade over
hope to get a good response thanx

You would need to ask the author of the arcade hack exactly what you need to copy over to "import" the arcade. You can also just remove your current hacks without donig an import into a new installation. See http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=131320

i realy want a fresh database,but i dont no how to clean the database and stuff,im not exp in that,only templates and the php files i could do

so i can wipe my database clean of hacks and templates and php files then upgrade to 3.0.9 and customize agen

dump these tables in phpmyadmin:

gamechallenges
gamenews
games

then when you upgrade, reinstall the arcade hack and then run the sql queries to put those tables back.

i THINK that should work, but no guarantees.

anyone else advise me on best thing to do for having a clean DB and clean codes but keep arcade

either way, if you wipe everything you're going to have to reinstall your arcade because of the template and file changes needed. what i was suggesting was dumping those tables so that once you've wiped and reinstalled vb and reinstalled the arcade, you don't have to go through the hassle of adding back all 300 games. hope that made sense.

It isn't easy. You said you want to do the import instead of removing your hacks, so you would need to install a fresh forum and follow the ImpEx instructions.

It is easier to just remove your hacks. You can just upload the original files, restore the default style, and do a quick check of the database structure to remove any custom stuff... like I said in that thread where I listed the different types of hacks.

so i cud delete any custom tables and leave the arcade ones and re install arcade?

If you aren't familiar with database stuff then I don't recommend fooling around in there. You could always contract some one to clean out any hacks from your database. You can post in the Service Requests forum on www.vbulletin.org for that. Hacks can be messy though, so you might find that people are reluctant to get their hands dirty with it.

Or you can go the longer route of doing an import into a fresh forum. Keep in mind that hacks in your database might conflict with an import.

When ever you install hacks or do edits to your forum, always make notes on what you do in a paper note book. I do not install hacks if it does not have an uninstall feature or to complicated. I made my own simple arcade power page instead. All the games I have are legal and have author's permission to display in forum. See link.
