Edited By showing up randomly when posts not edited

Something weirds been happening on my forum the last couple of months but it seems to be happening more and more now. When users post, sometimes a random Edited By shows up, with a random user name and a random date (i think its usually November 2002), well, it doesnt do any damage but its getting annoying.

Any ideas?

There is no way this could happen with the default vB. The first thing I recommend is that you reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server.

Next, create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Then change to this style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?
