Change the number of days before archive

My forum is new, and growing quickly. The nature of the topics require them to not be archived so quickly (for example, someone leaves on a trip to Africa for 5 weeks, and the come back, the thread that they started is gone).

How do I change the number of days before a thread is archived (aged)? I would prefer it stay visible on the forum for at least six months.

Or is this setting only modifiable by users on the display options?

I think you want this forum option:

Admin CP -> Forums & Moderators -> Forum Manager -> Edit Forum (in the menu) -> Default View Age

There is no auto-archive function in vB. I assume you mean the view age.

In the Forum Manager set the Default View Age to 'Show All Threads'.

Admin CP -> Forums & Moderators -> Forum Manager -> Edit Forum -> Default View Age -> Show All Threads

Or to update them all at once, run this query (assuming no table prefix is being used):

UPDATE forum SET daysprune=-1;

After running that query, update the forum counters:

Admin CP -> Import & Maintenance -> Update Counters -> Rebuild Forum Information
