Hi,
I had a VB 3.5.0. RC1 testboard with corrupted avatars. I've learned that VB 3.0.8 has solved those issues of corrupted avatars, so I went to all the hassle yesterday and today to do this:
- Upgraded my VB 3.0.7 production board to VB 3.0.8
- Deleted ALL the tables inside my VB 3.5.0. RC1 testboard (to achieve an empty/clean database)
- Deleted ALL the files in my \testvb\ maps
- Dumped my VB 3.0.8. production database into an sql-file
- Imported this sql-file into the empty test database
- FTP'd all of the VB 3.0.8. files from my local drive to the test-servermaps: \testvb\
- Edited config.php to select the right database.
So, I've now got an EXACT copy of my production site/database on my test site/database.
Unfortunately, I was very dissapointed to discover that I had STILL corrupted avatars inside my newly copied VB 3.0.8 testboard! See the screenshot.
Maybe I did something not right during my procedure described above or I don't understand something correctly, but I would very much like to know what causes these corrupted avatars again?

I am using MySQL 4.1.12
I use this command to dump and import my database:
mysqldump --opt -u $USER -p $USER --extended-insert=FALSE > public_html/dump.sql
mysql -u $USER -p database2 < public_html/dump.sql
