Changing "from" line of e-mails

The name of my forum is "Muppet Central Forum." It displays properly (to my knowledge) everywhere on the forum itself.

However in the from line of e-mails it reads "Muppet Central Forum Forums". The "Forums" on the end is extra and should not be there. How do I remove this so that the e-mail "from" line just appears as "Muppet Central Forum" the same as on the rest of the forum itself?

Admin CP -> Languages & Phrases -> Search in Phrases

Search for x_mailer in the Phrase Variable Name Only. Edit the phrase and use this for the translation:

is this considered a 'hack' and needs to be repeated upon updates/upgrades?

No. Custom languages are not overwritten during upgrades and are not considered to be hacks.

During troubleshooting it might be necessary to temporarily use the default language, but that's it.
