    Not sure where this would go.....Logo Related...

    Hello,
    My site has a custom logo that I have created for it. I have noticed however that the logo isn't sitting correctly on the page. I have it centered, but I also need it to adjust itself so that it will conform to the width of my forums as well as the different resolutions and browsers that members use.

    I have been reading through this site and found several things that may or may not work in my case. My images are centered on the banner, so there is no "empty
    space that would allow me to let the middle section "float".

    I will attach a screenshot of my banner.

    The URL to my site is: http://www.herpcenter.com

    Here are the files associated with my header:

    Admincp --> Styles and Templates --> Style Manager --> Go --> Header

    PHP Code:
    <!-- logo -->
        <
    a name="top"></a>
        <
    table border="0" width="$stylevar[outertablewidth]cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" align="center">
        <
    tr>
     <
    td align="center"><a href="$vboptions[forumhome].php?$session[sessionurl]"><img src="$stylevar[titleimage]"border="0" alt="$vboptions[bbtitle]"

    </img></a></td>
       </
    tr>
       </
    table>
       <!-- /
    logo -->
       </
    td>
       </
    tr>
       </
    table>
        <!-- /
    logo -->

        <!--
    content table -->

    $spacer_open

        $_phpinclude_output
    Here is the Template itself:

    Admincp --> Styles and Templates --> Style Manager --> << >> --> Header Template

    PHP Code:
    <!-- logo -->
         <
    a name="top"></a>
         <
    table border="0" width="$stylevar[outertablewidth]cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" align="center">
         <
    tr>
     <
    td align="center"><a href="$vboptions[forumhome].php?$session[sessionurl]"><img src="$stylevar[titleimage]"border="0" alt="$vboptions[bbtitle]"

    </img></a></td>
        </
    tr>
        </
    table>
        <!-- /
    logo -->
        </
    td>
        </
    tr>
        </
    table>
         <!-- /
    logo -->

         <!--
    content table -->

    $spacer_open

         $_phpinclude_output
    How could I make the banner span the entire width of the site but also conform to the different resolutions that are used?

    The second image depicts how resolution affects the banners appearance.

    I appreciate any and all help!

    Not true. I created that logo. And i have not given you the rights to use it as you want. That is a part of my xtreem style and if you could remove it now thank you. You should have asked me first.

      Hello,

      Feel free to look at the logo again. That was created off of member submissions. The iguana belongs to a member and the design/text is off of a members submission pic. How could that possibly be yours? (I personally combined the 2 images with photoshop 7.)

      The colors of my site are not any unique style either. I personally chose those colors from the color picker. The style is the same one that is always used except I made some alterations to it.

      Feel free to view my source code. You will find that my style sheet is nothing more than the default.

      I am curious now though if you will let me see yours. (Not to be rude, but I would like to see the comparison between the 2. I thought my banner was pretty unique.)

      Now could someone please answer my question about the auto sizing according to resolution?

        Yes i admit you created the lizzard no doubt about that. But the other stuff is mine.

        Check the screenie. If you do NOT se any similarities my bad. And ask your forum buddy if he created that from scratch.

        And here is a link on THIS forum where i relesed that skin for free 15 october 2004.

          Hello,

          The initial accusation that my banner was stolen completely removed the focus off of my initial post. It appears that this is certainly a case of mistaken identity however.

          I opened up both my banner and the banner you posted from your style. While I can appreciate that the gradients used are very similar, I can't agree that they are the same thing. If you hold them up one on top of another, you will have to concur with why I say that.

          The thing that releaves me the most though is the day that you released this style. You said it was released on October 14,2004. That banner has been up on my site for months. In fact, here is a screen capture of a post from my site that supports the banner being up at least a month before your release. The screenshot will be called bannerdated and attached as an attachment.

          I would have contacted the member that sent me the submission, but I don't recall what member that was. There was more on the banner that he submitted than what I used. I selected that portion off of one side of his design, and then I copied it, flipped it so both sides matched, and then inserted the iguana. The reason that I can't contact him is due to a site crash that I experienced in September. Of course, I can also back that claim as I have documentation of that as well. The largest portion of proof that I have in regards to the site crash is that Steve Machol assisted me with the SQL tables and how to access them for correction. Here is a thread on this site regarding some of it. Please look at all the dates in the screenies and links.

          Steve and I were talking via email regarding the problems that I had. That is why my last post expresses thanks and brings up info that wasn't discussed in the thread.

          I lost a great portion of the posts and threads that my site had accumulated. If I were to guess, I have had that banner since July or August of 2004.

          This threads supports that a number of threads were lost.

          When I initially read your first post, I was both confused and worried. Not worried that I had done anything wrong, but worried that a submission I chose was not an original piece of work. I don't believe that this is the case anymore.

          If you require further proof that the images are not of the same origin, at least take comfort in knowing that I am not a thief albeit intentional or unintentional.

          I am in the process of starting a small storefront on my site. Opposed to creating a new style for a unique appearance, I bought a style off the net. The following is just to confirm that what I am saying is true.

          Hello,

          I apologize that you have experienced difficulty in opening the
          downloaded
          file. We recently moved files to a new server, which may have
          contributed
          to this problem. I have attached the template file with this email.
          Please
          don't hestitate to contact me if you should experience any additional
          difficulties.

          Sincerely,
          Virginia Tavenner

          Hopefully this is all enough to help appease you that I never stole anything. I respect that you can see some sort of resemblance in the banners, but in the future, could you please contact me via pm. I believe that this thread is now lost on my initial question and I will have to copy and paste it again so that it may recieve a response.

          (I have noted though how grainy the fading is on my banner. I will be going in and cleaning that up sometime in the near future.)

          Sorry this is so long. Prior to all of this, I had documentation of what images I had used. I put a lot of work into my site, and I don't want anyone to believe that my sites success is over larceny of images,etc. Thanks for understanding.

                  Well.. here's a description of what I would do.

                  Split the current header banner logo into 5 cells thus:

                  Cell#1: left most part of the header up to the first part of the left claw - cell = fixed width the same size as the extracted left part of the image

                  Cell#2: a few pixels wide comprising a vertical capture of the header a few pixels to the right of the first image - cell width = 100%

                  Cell#3: Centre part of the image ie lizard - cell width = same as width of centre part of logo

                  Cell#4: Same as cell#2 but for the right

                  Cell#5: Same as cell#1 but for the right

                  Understand that??
                  John

                    You can easily get this into 3 cells

                          Hello,
                          Thanks for getting this together. I will try to dedicate some time later this afternoon to install these corrections. That was extremely nice of you. Thanks again!

                              Thanks again. It looks much better, but isn't 100% spanned across the screen. This is what it now looks like on my pc:
