    vBulletin database error

    I keep getting this vBulletin database error email.

    PHP Code:
    Database error in vBulletin :

    Link-ID == falseconnect failed
    mysql error
    :

    mysql error number
    What does it mean, and what can I do to fix it?

    This means that either the info in your config.php file is wrong (in which case your forums wouldn't work at all) or there is a problem with the server.

      Nothing is wrong with my config.php file (as my forums have been running smoothly for 2 months now).

      What would be wrong with my server?

        A lot of things could be wrong with it. Is this a dedicated server? If so, for help with optimizing your server, please see this thread:

        Then post the requested info in a new thread in that forum.

        If this is not a dedicated server, then you will need to contact your host about this problem.
