    6457 .. so nearly 6500

But since you banned some ranges .. you can say 10.000+

For that many IP's i recommend apache banning or even firewall.

      In a .htaccess file put

      Allow from all
      Deny from 123.123.145.126
      Deny from 248.233.123
      ...

        Exactly Scott
Left them as just a raw IP list to let the members decide how they want to implement.

Sadly we just banned a range used by one of Aus` larger isps, due to a kid who was spammin the site, being rude, and also betraying trust given by staff etc, he also used alias` to sign up because the last part of his ip was dynamic thus weve now got ban on the isp`s ip addys up to the 3rd value.

but I may scan the list see what I can find , as although these ips wil be from known "evil things/people" id imagine the chances of a huge amount of them hittin your site is a little unlikely unless youve had a few in the past or are attracting them lol

does it show that im not very secuirty concious lol

I found an error. Do a search for 350 and change the 350 to 35.

            Sorry about that.

I have updated the list. It now contains 7000 IP's (not counting masks)

I have also converteted it to "deny from" format for .htaccess and it's working good.

I won't post the list here just yet cause I have about another 1500 entries to sort/weed in/out.

These IP's have been taken from the mutitudes of proxie list sites.

A good idea would be to log onto the proxy sites and parse the lists of IPs

I would think that anonymous proxy services change their IP addresses regularly. Are there any DNS based "anonymous proxy server" lookup lists similar to the spam blacklists that are continually maintained by reputable people such as MAPS (http://www.mail-abuse.com) ? This would make much more sense than a static list put together from who knows where. I would not want to block the public proxy servers from ISPs that require their users to use the proxy server. I believe the intention is to get rid of the trouble makers that are intentionally trying to hide their IP to circumvent the IP banning.

Where would you add this list of IP, in VB IP banning or your server firewall?

It would be best to add them either to your firewall or .htaccess

And Tom1234, if you find a location like that.
