Corupted Attachments/Avatars

When ever I try to upload an avatar/attachment it is either rejected as the wrong file type when it is a valid .jpg, doesn't show up after uploading, or is corrupted.

Here's what I have:

4. Apache/webserver version
2.0.40

5. Server operating system
Redhat Linux 8.0

6. Any error message you are getting
ocassionally will get "The uploaded file is not a valid GIF or JPG file. Please ensure that it is and try again."

7. Whether or not you have edited any files*
No, fresh install.

I believe I've heard of some problems with RH8 and Apache 2.x. You might want to search these forums for info about this.

That must have been the problem. I've "downgraded" to RH7.3 and Apache 1.3.23, and everything seems to work.
