How do I adjust the column widths?

Some columns are just too narrow, where other columns are not (even though it doesn't have much text). How do I permanently widen columns and shorten others? I have set my table width to 600.

Admin CP --> Templates --> Modify --> [expand list] --> Forum Home --> [expand list] --> [edit] next to forumhome.

I talking about the columns when you actually go into each forum. Would adjust the tables in the home page change these as well?

no... you'll have to do that seperately in the "Forum Display Templates --> forumdisplay_threadslist" template...

I'm dealing with the same situation and am not sure where to change the widths. I would like to make the width of the "posts" column a bit larger and the "forums" column that much narrower.
