    UBB migration problem

    Ok, I set up vbulletin, all is well - so I went to migrate ubb over, i downloaded the scripts, got a hot cup of coffee.... and I got a 404 error - page not found. What could this be due to? I put the scripts in a new folder called "imports" as per the directions and I see them when I go to the control panel. But no dice when I try to import. Any help would be apreciated. Thanks,

    Seba

      I'm sorry, yes, I had named it "importers". I made a mistake here in the posting. So, to be clear, I have named it "importers" and I am still flatlined at 404.

        Here is the way it looks. The root for the forums is "forum", and under that folder is this structure. Is this where "importers" go?

          Do your importer files end with .php3 or .php? I see .php3 in your image so you would need the same extension on your importers.

            Ah, yes, good call. Ok, so now I do I just rename it, or do I need a new download?

            Sorry it's so basic, I am a newby since I have been using ubb for two years.

              Ok, I renamed them and re-uploaded them, and now I get just a blank page. Better than before, but not quite there yet.

                You need to download the .php3 versions, renaming it won't work. You can also change every occurrence of .php IN the file to .php3

                  Great, thanks for the quick reply. Where do I download them from? I can't seem to find them in the member's only section, there is only one download area for scripts and it does not contain any options.

                    Ok Freddie, I modified the file by changing all the PHP to PHP3 and I got the following error,

                    Parse error: parse error in /usr48/home/basa/public_html/forum/importers/bbimport_ubb6.php3 on line 3

                    At least it talked back to me, slowly but surely making some progress.

                      see which version of PHP you are using

                      create 2 files and name them

                      phpinfo.php3 and phpinfo.php

                      place in both of them this code

                      <?php
                      phpinfo();
                      ?>

                      upload both to your web site and post the urls to both of them in this post
