    You've got some major competition

I just found out about this new message board system that was just released tonight. Even though it does use perl, its really fast, and has most of the features vBulletin has, even some vB doesn't (although there's hacks for those for vB). It's also FREE!

It looks really nice, so I'd watch out!

    Here's a link:

Check out their support forums for a demo. It looks really nice, especially with a ton of features.

(And no, I don't work for them, even though that sounded like a commercial for them)

I thought they used BP at their site
Looks descent, does it have templates?

Don't know about templates. I hadn't heard anything about them, so I'm assuming it doesn't. I'm gonna be installing this to test it out on my server in a day or two, so I'll let you know then.

I may install it tomorrow if I have time, or maybe even now if I can get a chance

If you do get a chance, let me know if it has "Low CPU usage" like they claim.

They have a list of most of their features in the announcement section.

just by looking at their board, the layout seems to be highly based on vB's, atleast the original vB's anyway

It looks just like the board at ubbhackers.com...

Yeah that's it.... it's what the child would look like if vB and ubbhackers mated

well without a UBB import utility i doubt any of the bigger sites would even look at it

True...but I'm sure it will be highly appealing to smaller sites without the necessary cash.

Obviously I'm still sticking with vBulletin - simply because it's the best all around.

I installed to play a little, still very "beta" and flat file to boot, no competition for vB, still has potential for small sites not having MySQL and/or PHP otherwise there is a lot of good free stuff out there for those not wanting to spend $$$...

I installed it last night, very lacking if you ask me
I don't personally like the payout much, nor the admin center.
Its also missing quite a few features (memberlist, etc.)

And the coding is quite terrible to boot.
