    Backgroung Image

Between the header and the top of the forum there is a space for the welcome message and also the number of registered member numbers threads, etc. I believe this to be in 2 templates unwelcomemessage and the forumhome template. There is also an area at the bottom of the page between the bottom of the forum and the footer. How would a person use a background image in these area's instead of just say a color of FFFFFF.

That's the page background color option. By default, you can't use anything but a color there, however you can use a cheap hack:

    #ffffff" background="image/bg.gif

Note the placement (and lack of in certain places) the quotes.

Ed if you could go and look at my forum at http://forums.realwebhost.net

I don't think I could do what you ask if that is for the entire background because I'm only using 735 pixels in width, That is the reason I think I would have to place something somehow in the templates?

That will only cover your 735 pixel wide board -- just read my post carefully and try it. It should work.

Judging by his last post, I believe he interpreted what I said to be done in the <body> tag, not the page background color option. In this forum, the bluish outline is from the <body> tag. The white is the "page background color." ( { pagebgcolor} )

Here is one for you guys. What if I told you when I go to my styles in my control panel and go down to page color and put in any html color code and save it black, white, blue, red it doens't matter that the page color stays white. It does not change. What would cause that?

Well, in that case, my guess would be you killed the { pagebgcolor} replacement variable that is in the header by default.

Thanks Thomas look at post above I still don't have bottom showing. Think I might be missing some code. Also on my forum I have the top but I show A space between the bottom of my header and where the background color starts. I will not be using this background color it is just for test purposes.

                            Thank you scott.

I have made the corrections you mentioned. You can see the difference on my page now if you view the source code again.

Here is what I have now. I can change the page color in cp panel, when I do it only chnages the top portion, the bottom portion does not change, Also the top portion I have an space between the bottom of the header and the welcome message block. I think that is probably the space.gif setup somewhere in one of the templates. Any help would be appreciated, Working on it yesterday than everyone stopped responsing. I use alot of programs, just don't understand sometime why people beat up on frontpage all of the time though. Some people hate some people like. I think I am neutral, I use what I can get to work for me depending on what I am working on, that's all.
