    How to put an ad banner at the header?

    Hello...

    this is my board :

    and I have included an attachement/screenshot also...

    My board has to do with music so I oftenly advertise music events by adding a banner below the main image... (below the buttons)

    I guess I will have to put it at the header, right?

    here is the header code : (I have made a small hack so that the main board image is at the top center and the buttons below it) :

    -------------------------------------------------------------------
    <!-- logo and buttons -->
    <center>
    <table border="0" width="100%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"><a href="index.php?s=$session[sessionhash]">
    <center><img src="images/vBulletin_logo.gif" border="0" alt="$bbtitle" align="center"></center>
    </a><br>
    <tr><td valign="bottom" align="center" nowrap>
    <!-- toplinks -->
    <a href="usercp.php?s=$session[sessionhash]"><img src="images/top_profile.gif" alt="Here you can view your subscribed threads, work with private messages and edit your profile and preferences" border="0"></a>
    <a href="register.php?s=$session[sessionhash]&action=signup"><img src="images/top_register.gif" alt="Registration is free!" border="0"></a>
    <a href="calendar.php?s=$session[sessionhash]"><img src="images/top_calendar.gif" alt="Calendar" border="0"></a>
    <a href="memberlist.php?s=$session[sessionhash]"><img src="images/top_members.gif" alt="Find other members" border="0"></a>
    <a href="misc.php?s=$session[sessionhash]&action=faq"><img src="images/top_faq.gif" alt="Frequently Asked Questions" border="0"></a>
    <a href="search.php?s=$session[sessionhash]"><img src="images/top_search.gif" alt="Search" border="0"></a>
    <a href="index.php?s=$session[sessionhash]"><img src="images/top_home.gif" alt="Home" border="0"></a>
    <!-- <a href="member.php?s=$session[sessionhash]&action=logout"><img src="images/top_logout.gif" alt="Logout" border="0"></a> -->
    &nbsp;
    <!-- /toplinks -->
    </td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    <!-- /logo and buttons -->

    <!-- content table -->
    <table bgcolor="#FFFFFF" width="100%" cellpadding="10" cellspacing="0" border="0">
    <tr>
    <td>
    ------------------------------------------------------------

    My question is : Where exactly in this code can I put the relative HTML code for a banner (being also a link) to be placed under the buttons?

    thanx in advance

    PHP Code:
    <!-- /toplinks -->
    </
    td>
    </
    tr
    Right there. ^.

    Should look like this, I think?
    PHP Code:
    <!-- /toplinks -->
    </
    td>
    </
    tr>
    <
    tr>
    <
    td align="center">Put the banner code here.</td>
    </
    tr
    Is that what you're trying to do or what?

        Actually I want something like this... :

        which means that the banner/baners - on my board - will be placed at the yellow line of the screenshot included

          Look in the forumhome template. Look for the stuff that will be above the banner, then look for closing table tag. Then add what I added in my post above. .

          In the forumhome template, look for:
          PHP Code:
          <table cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="{contenttablewidth}" {tableinvisibleextraalign="center">
          $unregwelcomemessage
          <tr valign="bottom">
              <
          td><smallfont>

          Members$numbermembersThreads$totalthreadsPosts$totalposts<br>

          Welcome to our newest member, <a href="member.php?s=$session[sessionhash]&action=getinfo&userid=$newuserid">$newusername</a>
              </
          smallfont></td>
              <
          td align="right"><smallfont>

          The time now is $timenow.<br>

          You last visited$bbuserinfo[lastvisitdate].
              </
          smallfont></td>
          </
          tr>
          </
          table>
          <!-- /
          text -->
          Change to:

          PHP Code:
          <table cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="{contenttablewidth}" {tableinvisibleextraalign="center">

              something is wrong

              Ok...
              this is the code for the table/banner I wanna put :

              <!-- shoutbox -->
              <tr>
              <td align="center"><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" bgcolor="#000000" width="98%" align="center"><tr><td>
              <table cellpadding="4" cellspacing="1" border="0" width="100%">
              <tr id="cat">
              <td bgcolor="#1d6aa0" background="img src="images/frontpage/cat_bg_02.gif" colspan="6"><center><font face="verdana, arial, helvetica" size="2" color="#ffffff"><b>The Synthpop Avenue Infobox</font></b></a></td>
              </tr>

              <tr>
              <td bgcolor="#13486D" colspan="6"><font face="verdana,arial,helvetica" size="1" ><b><table border="0" width="100%">
              <tr>
              <td width="33%">
              <p align="left"><img border="0" src="http://www.synthpopavenue.gr/images/shoutbox/mazeup.jpg"></td>
              <td width="33%">

              </tr>
              </table>
              </b></font>
              </td>
              </tr>
              </td>
              </tr>
              </table></td>
              </tr>
              </table></td>
              </tr>

              <!-- /shoutbox -->

              First I tried putting it at the forumhome template... in this place:

              <table cellpadding="2" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="100%" align="center">
              $unregwelcomemessage
              <tr valign="bottom">
              <td><smallfont>
              Members: $numbermembers, Threads: $totalthreads, Posts: $totalposts<br>
              Welcome to our newest member, <a href="member.php?s=$session[sessionhash]&action=getinfo&userid=$newuserid">$newusername</a>
              </smallfont></td>
              <td align="right"><smallfont>
              The time now is $timenow.<br>
              You last visited: $bbuserinfo[lastvisitdate].
              </smallfont></td>
              </tr>
              <tr>
              <td align="center">Put shoutbox Code Here</td>
              </tr>
              </table>
              <!-- /text -->

              the result I get is this:

                its obvious something is wrong...

                So I put the code here:

                </smallfont></td>
                <td align="right"><smallfont>
                The time now is $timenow.<br>
                You last visited: $bbuserinfo[lastvisitdate].
                </smallfont></td>
                </tr>
                </table>

                <tr>
                <td align="center">Put shoutbox Code Here</td>
                </tr>

                <!-- /text -->

                the result was not good either!

                  So...
                  in the first try... there are 2 problems...

                  the "Last visited..." references get messy...
                  and the infobox I put has the wrong width!

                  At the second try.... the "Last visited...." text is ok..
                  but the infobox still doesn't have the right width

                  also... the image I want to have at the "The Synthpop Avenue Infobox" background... does not show up!

                  I tried replacing this code:

                  <td bgcolor="#1d6aa0" background="img src="images/frontpage/cat_bg_02.gif" colspan="6">

                  with this:

                  <td bgcolor="#1d6aa0" background="img src="{imagesfolder}/frontpage/cat_bg_02.gif" colspan="6">

                  but not result as u see...

                  any ideas?
