[CMS] CMS is slowing down my forump home page

With CMS plugin activated the CMS page and forum home page takes about 14 seconds to load up.

When i turn off the CMS plug in my forum home page loads in less than a second.

so now i have CMS turned off because that is unacceptable. but i really liked the article system.

any ideas on what i can do to fix this?

    thanks

CMS executes about 150 queries, so... It's quite slow, yes )

14 seconds? Wow, what's your server load? Shared server? That's awful slow. Your forum is very slow right now.

I think most people know now, that if you intend to use the CMS Forum package, with CMS activated. It's not really suited for using with a shared hosting solution. Not right now anyway.

14 seconds is too long. Most visitors will not hang around waiting for your Forum/CMS to load-up for that length of time. I know I wouldn't.

Looking at the size of your board, you are dedicated obviously. I would actually review ibxanders recent blog post about swapping DB's: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/entry...XtraDB-5.5-5.1

Some massive performance increases that are well worthwhile for bigger boards.

Make sure your cms and forum sideblocks are using the dedicated recent XYZ widgets/blocks and not the general search widgets to retrieve content. The more general search widgets you use, the slower the page load.

Ah.... nice Wayne, I will have to look at that myself when upgrading my live site hopefully this weekend. I have kept CMS search widgets down to two only due to the high queries from each. Now I will be revisiting those.
