[Forum] Forum Stats showing the incorrect number of posts and threads.

I upgraded my forum to 4.02 Patch Level 4 from 3.8.
At some since I have developed a problem with the Forum statistics on the Home page.
    They are showing as:
    Threads:16,777,716
    Posts:4,294,969,935
But I don't have that many posts or threads! I wish!
    How can I correct this?

I've heard anything about Statistic problems fixed in v4.0.3, try upgrading to vB4.0.3 PL1

So this is a known issue?

It was... You are using an outdated version of vB4

Just go to maintenance > Update Counters > Rebuild Forum Information and it should get fixed.

Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

            Thanks Lynne.
I had tried about every other counter update other than that one!
            It's now fixed.

              Hi!,

I've the same problem, but with less users, from 6300 now I have 6080, I was running 4.0.2 PL4, now 4.0.3.

I try updating the counters, but nothing change.
Upgrading to 4.0.3 PL1 will be fix this?

              Thanks!
              Sergio.

Your issue is totally different from the one in this thread. 4.0.3 no longer counts users in usergroup 3 or 4 in the total users.

                  Thanks lynne.
Is there any setting that I can change, to count this groups?

                  Thanks.

You may remove the code. This is a response I gave somewhere else about this - I haven't tried it, but I think it would work:
In forum.php, remove this line around line 475:
AND (user.usergroupid NOT IN (3,4) OR user.usergroupid IS NULL)

And again in in /includes/functions_databuild.php around line 1828, remove this line:
                    usergroupid NOT IN (3,4)

I *think* that will do what you want. (The total number is in the datastore and I dont' think it will be updated until a new user registers.)

Yep same thing here this morning. Kinda nice having all those count numbers beside the threads and memberships... if only they were real...

Thanks for info guys, time to burst the bubble.
Look, just give me some inner peace or I’ll wipe the floor with ya!
