    [Forum] Upgrade from 3.8.4 > 4.0.3

    Hello,

I would like to upgrade my forum to the most recent version 4.0.3.

But the first time that i did it everything went wrong. All of my users couldn't login.

Are there other steps that i have to make than usuall.

Thanks for your reply and help.

Urm the way I did it was

1> Backed up the sql db and directory of vb3.8
2> Check the addons/hacks and un-install the ones that I no longer would use under vb4 and then disable all the other add-ons one by one.
3> Turn off vbseo (if applicable) and then disable that also in the plugins section.
    4> Copy the files over
    5> Run the installer

Hopefully things should work better for you than previously so if it worked.

Upgrade vbseo and re-enable if (if applicable) and then look for updated versions for vb4 of the addons you may have and then upgrade and re-enable those.

Must say the installation went very well except for one minor detail which I fixed, the only thing that took the time was rebuilding posts/threads/search indexs

      Thanks for your reply zelnik!

Have done it now for the second time and again it seems to fail.

      1. Uninstall all products and plugins
      2. Close the forum
      3. Upload everything
      4. Run the upgrade.php file

      Im upgrading from 3.8.4. PL2 to 4.0.3
Do i have to upgrade in once or is there a an other way of clearing this job?

Is there a way that i have to revert the templates before upgrading?
