IE 8 and Crome cant use Forum navbar_search :(

Im running 3.8.2 Vbulletin and I just found out that it is not just IE 8 that has problems using the forum. Crome has problems to.

Users with either of the 2 browsers cant even use search, pm or any function that uses the popup feature.

Do I really have to pay for upgrades to the 3.8 version ?
Is my only option to downgrade vbulletin, pay more money for 3.8 updates or upgrade to 4.0 ?

You are most likely to pay to upgrade to vB3.8.5 for the fixes to these bugs.
