How to exclude a thread(s) from Similar Threads feature?

On my forum the Similar Thread feature tends to unreasonable favor some of my main product review threads. It has come to a point that now the threads appearing in the Similar Threads box are mostly the reviews - all of the time! The Similar Threads feature has become useless.

I would like to completely exclude, or limit, 4 or 5 thread IDs from appearing in the Similar Thread feature.

How would I go about achieving that?

You can probably make a plugin using the hook location search_similarthreads_fulltext which hooks into the query.
