VB as a Slave in Joomla 2.5 Need to know before purchase

Wondering if VB can be a slave in Joomla 2.5 Searching for forum software and vb is the most used in our industry. Can anyone help out?

Do you only sell the full cms or do you sell just the forum seperately?

    Tx for your help!!

    Hello,

vBulletin 4.2.0, our latest stable version, includes a CMS and Blogs. You can see 4.2.0 on use on this site. Click on "Articles" in the Navbar for a look at the CMS.

We do not have any official support however for integrating vBulletin with Joomla or any other software, and when people do integrate systems on their own usually vBulletin is used more as the master piece of software- for example accounts will be registered and verified through vBulletin's processes, rather than the other software.

Thank you for your input Joe. Do appreciate it.

So there is no "forum only" for sale thru VB? Nothing without the cms?

      Thanks Again

No, sorry. the forum only version is no longer sold.

However if you don't want the CMS, you can simply disable it.

Oh Really Mark? I didn't know that. So can I get VB to take second position as a slave within Joomla 2.5?

          Probably with some bridging extensions?

Again thanks for the input!! Really helps in making a decision.

If you're using Joomla as the main driver of your sit with vBulletin providing the forum aspect, then imstall Joomla in your domain root, vBulletin in a sub-directory such as /forum. You then won't have any conflict between the two.

However, to have users only have a single registration and login for both systms, you will need a bridge which we neither provide or support. There may be one on a Joomla extensions site or our own customisation site, www.vbulletin.org, that you can use to facilitate this however.
