[Forum] Internet Explorer issue - grey box replying to threads

I've had many members contact me to tell me they cannot get the cursor to activate in the reply box. It's just a grey solid box and there is no way to type. I'm unable to reproduce the problem myself on demand and have only seen it a few times using IETester.

This thread seems to indicate it's a bug. I was just wondering if someone has a solution, even a temp one?

It certainly isn't a bug. However there can be various causes.

The fact that is only occurs in IE might help pinpoint the problem. I appreciate you can't replicate it yourself, which makes it harder, but I did run into something similar myself and it was a bit of a nightmare to sort.

I would start by asking the affected users to give you specific threads where this happens (unless it happens in ALL threads). Ideally post those back here if you can, and create a test login on your board in the same usergroup as the affected user, and post that here also. See if we can replicate it, though if it was the same issue I had (maximum stylesheets in IE) it's possible it won't be able to be replicated without you actually logging in as the affected user.

No one has given me access to a site that it is happening on that I can think of for me or anyone else to debug.

I continue to get at least one email per week from a different user who cannot post because of this grey box issue. Goes right up to IE10. This needs to be escalated for a fix.
