[Forum] Stopping unregistered users reporting threads

This might not sound like a big problem, but the following screenshot is indicative... http://i.imgur.com/r2x9G.jpg

This hobbyist troll, after blocking every way of connecting to our forum's users, registers over a dozen obscene user IDs per day, signs up and reports posts with offensive comments. He has been doing this for three months and I can't stop him.

Surely vBulletin should have a setting that stops non-registered users from doing ANYTHING?

Have you tried blocking his IP address?

I also happen to find it ironic how he's reporting innocent posts when he's the one actually in the wrong. XD

I've a very long list of blocked IP addys but we can only do this reactively. There should be no way an unregistered user can report posts.

Check your group permissions for unregistered users.

Done that. Every single thing is off for unregistered users. But there is no option to stop reporting posts. That's why he's using this trolling method.

The other problem here is that their obscene user name shows up in the who's currently online area (I had to physically delete the welcome to our newest member code).

It strikes me this is a bug in the code.

That's not from Unregistered group... he's got a username and also, guest don't have the option to report posts as far as I know

You might want to either manualy moderate new users or use some mods from vbulletin.org (there is a mod that will place all post of new users in waiting moderation status)
To be or not to be... Where the hell is the question????
My psychiatrist told me I was crazy and I said I want a second opinion. He said okay, you're ugly too

Already done all of that. Basically you can do all this stuff while waiting for your email to be confirmed. You shouldn't be able to do that, but you can.

Thanks so much for this. I've been trying it for a while, but think I've sussed what I was doing wrong - usergroup numbers. Will let you know just how successful it was.

Now if only I can stop him appearing in "who's online"
