Paypal subscriptions not automatically updating usergroup?

I've been running paypal subscriptions using the Subscription Manager built into vBulletin 3.8.7 for a long time with no problems at all, that was up until about the last month or two. Suddenly a member will auto-renew or newly join our "Premium Membership" and the forum isn't automatically putting the member in the new usergroup as it used to in the past.

If I click on "Test Communication" and the page shows a check mark for Passed. No add-ons have been added recently nor updated / changed as well. The payments clear though paypal but it's as if the forum never gets the word from paypal.

Anyone else have or had this issue and have any suggestions on how I might be able to fix it?

    Thanks!

In addition, I've just checked the Transaction Log and see numerous "Failure" entries with one of two errors:

    "unhandled_payment_status_or_type" or "invalid_subscriptionid"

    Any help would be appreciated.

What's your Forum URL in AdminCP > vBulletin Options > Site Name / URL / Contact Details? What URL did you put in the IPN URL field in PayPal?
        Vote for:

        - Admin Settable Paid Subscription Reminder Timeframe (vB6)
        - Add Admin ability to auto-subscribe users to specific channel(s) (vB6)

You shouldn't normally be required to set the paypal ipn url, we pass it to paypal during purchase.

If I remove the IPN URL from my paypal account and click on "Save" I get the following error:

"You must enter a properly formatted URL into the Notification URL field in order to activate Instant Payment Notification."

So how would I enable IPN on Payapl w/o submitting a URL as paypal is requesting in the error above?

IPN unless explicitly disable by paypal should always be enabled.

But that doesn't answer my question above...

                  - - - Updated - - -

My Account > Profile > More Options
Click on Update next to "Instant payment notifications" under the Getting paid and managing my risk title.

It then shows my Current settings:
                  Notification URL: http://www.MYDOMAIN.com/forum/paymen...?method=paypal
                  Message delivery: Enabled

                  I click on "Edit Settings"
I remove the Notification URL and click on "SAVE".

You're saying the URL isn't needed in Paypal, but Paypal says it is...

you do not need to receive payment information to a specific url, you can leave it blank and choose not to receive ipn messages. That is just an override if you want all ipn messages to always be sent to a specific url for all purchases regardless of where they originate from.

Removing the URL and setting the IPN messages to disabled and clicking Save results in the same error message above.

I did that a month ago and got no help. I was simply sympathizing with the original poster. Is that not allowed?
