We had ~4 weeks with Arvixe (Linux on Hyper-V) VPS and it did not cut it, we had a HG Virtuozzo VPS before that.
MySQL slow queries etc. Even after tuning MySQL.
We have moved to PhotonVPS.com (Linux on XEN) and it absolutely rocks!
I setup MySQL with the same my.cnf as I had on Arvixe and the XEN based VPS was much faster (4x based on my single user tests).
By far and away this has been a great move for us. This is the fastest our site has ever been.
