[Forum] Mobile Style Premium --- what is it?

While browsing the vBulletin issue tracker I came across the term "Mobile Style Premium"...
What is it and how can I get it?

It is a more advanced mobile style and will be made available to users who purchased the Mobile App Suite. It will be made available with the release of 4.1.9 as far as I am aware.

Does this mean that the style will work nicely in a smartphone browser, or tablet browser, without the need for the mobile app itself (albeit the forum owner must purchase the mobile app suite to have it)?

In theory. That's certainly the plan. Although it's more about extra features than extra bugfixes, I hope.

I just switched to the mobile style, no What's New button to be seen. Good grief.

Really, will you need to buy the Mobile Suite, even though you are not going to use it?!
We won't be able to submit our app to the appstores, due to the nature of our forum...

For the price of the mobile suite from vbulletin you could purchase a XenForo license and still have money left over to buy a couple if premium styles. FWIW browsing via mobile works just fine as is but a mobile style is being released free by the developers.

It is on there. On the grid menu page or whatever the hell it's called. I'd love to know who decided that and the rationale behind that decision and if they ever browse the web on their mobile.

Maybe they might ask themselves why would someone use the mobile skin when it takes more clicks to achieve less.

Exactly, its more hassle to use the mobile style when browsing on mobile than it is to use the normal one. Nevermind moderation ability.

I just hate it to re-install and re-configure the mobile style with every update...

Just stop using it then, no point in trying to use something that's fundamentaly broken.
