[Forum] Archive button at the bottom of the forum

    Hi

I have just noticed that the archive button at the bottom of my forum says site www.television-magazine-forum.co.uk/sitemap

The vbulletin archive button actually says archive when hovered over.

How do I rename this button to say site map?
    Regards
    Trevor

That functionality isn't really a sitemap but you can change the text by editing the archive phrase in the global phrase group.

Languages & Phrases -> Search In Phrases.

    Set 'Search for...' to archive
Set 'Search in...' to Phrase variable name only.

Edit the phrase and put your text in the translation box.

From what I understand, the archive feature should not be used. It's a feature that was helpful long ago but now days I think it can actually hurt SEO.

Thanks, so should I disable this feature somehow then?

Settings -> Option -> Search Engine Friendly Archive.

It has pretty much outlived its usefulness due to a variety of factors.

          1) Search engines updated their algorithms and can handle dynamic URLS.

          2) vBulletin has Friendly URLs.

          3) vBulletin ships with a Mobile Friendly style that can be installed.

Thanks Wayne. That got rid of it.
