upgraded forum from 3.8.4 to 3.8.7 p2 and mobile app stopped working

I re-uploaded the 1.2 Mobile API files and the patch files in the "384pl1-387" folder overwriting all files on the server, but I get the same error:

"There appears to be a connection issue between your device and YourForum. Please try again."

There was a separate issue with the main forum earlier today where the cookie path had to be reset. Could this be the issue that the mobile app can't access the new cookie?

Is your API enabled in AdminCP?

yes, none of those settings have changed.

the cookie path was changed (then back to default), and the cookie prefix was changed. I did have to reset some users' passwords before they could log in to the main forum, maybe I'll try that for myself

resetting passwords makes no difference.

The mobile API patch is for 3.8.4 to 3.8.7, but our forum is now running on 3.8.7 patch 2. Could that be it?

Fixed because I'm an idiot. I still had hooks disabled in the config.php
