That option uploads the files to your server no matter which settings you have. The only option that does not upload files to your server is the IMG BB Code.

FIXED Image.js (see attachment image)

Here is what I did;

1. DOWNLOAD and unzip the file Image.zip

2. REPLACE the file clientscript/ckeplugins/vbimage/dialogs/image.js with the unzipped version of image.js (BACKUP YOUR OLD VERSION)

3. ENABLE Advanced Insert Image Popup

Admin CP -> Settings -> Options -> Message Attachment Options -> Advanced Insert Image Popup - Enable -> Yes

it happens to me too. i disable advanced insert image popup..then when i try to insert image, it said Invalid URL..

But now I cannot upload images from my PC !

This works great! I wish it gave the option to attach a picture.. but yet thats fine.. this is still better than the vb garbage one that came standard

I dont understand, why Image button cant act as IMG BB Code, when Attachements button is present too?
As I can see, there is many users with same simple problem here...

If anybody want still the "box" without the check inside as default (Retrieve remote file and reference locally) follow this:
Open with a text editor the file:
/forum_root/clientscript/ckeplugins/vbimage/dialogs/image.js

At the line 247 replace:

this.setValue(true);

with:

this.setValue(false);

Save the file, upload on the webserver, delete all the browser cache and try to upload a image from URL.
From default the result will be:

Yes it is a simply change in the vbulletin code .... If it worked before, it will work later.
