[Forum] Problem with Youtube Videos in Threads

Hello,

I've notice that Youtube changed their sharing links and now when my users try to insert videos to threads they just get a link instead of the video.

How can I do it now?... Do I need to copy the video's link from the browser?

Using the the URL from the browser address bar still works.

Yes, I haven't noticed any problem. I saw several members posting Youtubes today and they seemed fine. Of course, some of them are smarter than others.

will this plugin get upgraded?

why is it a problem? because sometimes when you're at youtube you don't get a perfect URL
for e.g if you are in a 'channel' the URL may be http://www.youtube.com/user/LadyGaga.../0/wagn8Wrmzuc - this will not embed
so the user (or helpful staff) then need to find the real URL which would be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wagn8Wrmzuc

when all that was initially needed was to paste the share code http://youtu.be/wagn8Wrmzuc - but f course the new share codes don't work!
this is frustrating on a forum that mostly deals in music.

If that Jira is http://tracker.vbulletin.com/browse/VBIV-11734 then it says it's fixed and should be in 4.1.4. Oddly it also shows 0 votes; I'm not sure what that means.

yep that one. i think it can't be voted on once its resolved, i'm watching it but i couldn't actually vote on it.

Then, shut your forum down, enable debug mode, rebuild the video bbcode, and then the video links should start working again for youtu.be and youtube.

but the poster unfortunately does not say where to add this. i don't have this existing already in the BBCode manager and the term doesn't exist in the template. i'm stumped where else to put it.

anyone know?

edit: ok i think it goes into the ftp folder xml/includes/video_bbcode
and i have turned on debug mode
but how do you rebuild the bbcode??
