        vBulletin software isn't free.

You have to look at the free forums that are floating about.

Otherwise pay for a licence and you will be able to use these forums.

Does GM have free cars for non profit organizations?

Loads of non profit organizations do tonnes of good work, and are often extended breaks on numerous things, but companies can't just give everything to them.
          Hmmm. Cheese.

It's not up to me if vbulletin should do this..

You should check out the kindness offensive on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/user/KindnessOffensive
They get loads of stuff from companies! Maybe they can help you if they like the cause.

            Goodluck.

Just being 'nonprofit' doesnt entitle to the benefits charities and humanitarian agencies are to generally.
Forums based around opensource clearly would be sounder to use actually opensource solutions. vBulletin or SMF/SimpleMachines are diametrally opposite to the freedom values embodied in opensource.

No way for free, would generate headaches sooner or later (like "nonprofits" selling/transfering licences then seeking new ones).

A significantly discounted price (like half off) for charities would be more reasonable, and in line with common practice in the software industry. Good for corporate image, and doesn't actually cost anything or constitute lost revenue.
Add a few conditions, like non-transferable licences, locked to one domain, a limited number (1?) per "nonprofit", requesting nonprofit status information...and you're set.
Such reductions also look good in corporate tax filings (tax-deductible).

In practice, I'm pretty sure you'll be blown off for both ways, getting linked to phpbb, the purchase page and generally getting trolled and called cheapskate in the meanwhile.

We do not have discounts generally available for NPO's. You're welcome to contact the sales team if you'd like to disucss anything, though due to the nature and cost of vBulletin discounts are not normally given.
