When will vBulletin 4.x have flawless imports?

Can I get confirmation when we'll be able to import vBulletin 4.x to another vBulletin 4.x install?
Also are there other issues importing into vBulletin 4.x from prior version of vBulletin or any of the other supported scripts?

The importing of 4 > 4 is what's holding me back from upgrading my forum to the latest suite.
I import a LOT of forums into mine, I'll stay on 3.8.x forever if I have to, or move to a better framework. (which neither would be my choice)

I'm confused, you're on vBulletin 4 forum and you won't upgrade to the suite because impex is not available?

I believe he is trying to merge many forums into 1 by using import. So some of his forums are 3.8 while others ar 4.0? NO? And his destination forum is a 4.0?

I just ran a test update (again) from 3.86 to 4.07 and had no problems at all. I also tested it as 4.0 to 4.07, 4.01 to 4.07, etc and everything worked the same. I did have a problem with a style I had worked on around 4.01 and had to nurse it through all the upgrades until I got to 4.07 and then I exported it and was able to import it into 07 with no problems.

Each time I run this test (I'm going to upgrade live this weekend), I uninstall all products and plugins and then delete all my old styles and revert all templates of the default style.

Do you have a test playground?

            Sorry for the confusion everyone..
            currently I'm on a 3.8.x version, and I can't import a 4.0 forum to 3.8
I want to upgrade to 4.x but only if impex works on all the current versions of vBulletin

            oh really?
It was my understanding that you couldn't import from 4.x to anything yet, including into 4. or 3.8.x
I don't see a "source" option for 4.x, did you use the 3.7 version?

yes, I usually setup a test sites when running imports to clean up the source site of the import. (I always convert the forums to vbulletin 3.8 first, before importing into my master vB site)

I can't see us providing an Impex solution from 4.x to 3.x to be honest, certainly not in the immediate future.

You're welcome to put a suggestion into JIRA for it though.

I went ahead and updated our forum to the suite, so 4.x > 3.x isn't an issue for me.
I was told by one of the vb devs that importing to 4.0 from 4.0 works fine in impex if you use the "3.7" system as the source.
Guess I'll see on the next merger

It's just the attachment part of the import that doesn't seem to work.

I must be the only person on the planet to be using only the vbCMS on a site. How retarded is that.

Only because we built the CMS site while the forum was run on another vb lisc.

Impex will not let you import the forum without destroying the CMS as far as I know.

Never would have guessed this to be the case... it's designed to go the other way I guess.

                      Hmmm. Cheese.

So almost a year ago I started this thread asking when a successful vbulletin 4.x importer would work and we've still yet to produce anything..

                            Sad vB.. SAD..

and don't give me the "well the members should test it" BS... Fix the product yourself, use the team iNEt PAYS for.. want me to beta it, ask me or offer me something.. I've spent far to much free time on this subject.. I'm not interested in offering anything else..

Thanks GOD the vb4 to xenfore importer works flawlessly.. (ps.. it was made by a vb staff member too..LMAO #irony)
