XenForo to vBulletin

if there's a big enough demand...post it to the tracker...there's probably an impex section. If you need any help just ask.

Don't know only played with it for 25 minutes.

this is more along the lines of if I start a community using XenForo, and 12 months down the road they stop development for whatever reason, or IB wins a certain court case, I'd like to know if the impex tool will be available.

If you are not confident in the product I would suggest not using it considering the lead developer for Impex is no longer with IB. Not to say someone else couldn't figure it out, but I have my doubts that it would be a very high priority.
I feel developer resources are being given to 4.1 and it will be all hands on deck for v5.

If I recall, Freddie has taken over ImpEx. He's already pushed several fixes for it already.
